FAQ
frequently asked questions

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

That depends on a variety of factors. For ready to ship items and fiber supply orders, our processing time is usually 1-2 business days (3 business days at the most.) Then, most US orders are sent via USPS priority mail or UPS ground shipping. If you select rush, your items will typically arrive in 1-3 days after shipping. If you opted for ground, orders will typically arrive in 3-8 days once shipped.

For made to order items, please see the item description for processing/order completion times. The same shipping speeds above apply once the item(s) are shipped.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! To find out the shipping costs for your region, add all desired items to your cart and proceed to checkout to view your shipping options and costs. If shipping your package ends up costing less than what you were charged, any shipping overages will be returned to you upon processing your order for shipping.

Do you accept returns?

We accept returns on any unused items sent in their original condition within 30 days of purchase. The customer will be responsible for any shipping costs incurred in returning their items. The original shipping costs for any orders placed are non-refundable, unless the item is being returned as a result of our error (damaged, defective, wrong item sent, etc.) For your protection, we encourage you to obtain tracking number and shipping insurance for your return package; as we are not responsible for any return packages that are lost or damaged by the return shipping company. Refunds will be submitted upon successful delivery and confirmation of contents of the return package.

Why do the spool sizes and colors vary when

I order the same fiber product two times?

All of my cotton cord products are made in batches by manufacturer, and as with the nature of any organic materials like cotton, this can sometimes lead to slight variations in color from batch to batch. If you are working on a project needing consistent color, I recommend you purchase enough rope at one time to complete that project because the next time I restock that color, it may be slightly varied from before.

As for the spool sizes, the spools are measured out by length and weight. While my manufacturer keeps the quantity of rope as consistent as possible, the spool sizes may vary depending on many factors such as how tightly each spool is spun to the spool, how tightly the strands of string/rope itself are twisted together, the storage conditions, humidity etc.

Do you accept custom orders?

I am currently accepting new custom orders! I LOVE working on special commissions. Whether it's customizing a previous work to fit your space or starting a new design from scratch, I can make something special and one of a kind just for you.

How do custom orders work?

Please see the "Book a Custom order" option on my website menu for more information! You can learn all about how the process works and even request a quote directly from that page.

Can I find your work in any storefronts?

I currently sell mostly online, but I often participate in pop-ups or craft shows that are local to Orange County or neighboring counties. When I do have an upcoming event, you can find details on it from the "Events" page on my site.

Do you sell your items wholesale?

I currently do not sell my artwork wholesale, but I can usually offer bulk discounts for orders of 10 or more! Feel free to contact me for pricing on a specific item.

For fiber supplies, I do not offer wholesale (yet) but I do offer bulk discounts for large orders! Feel free to email to inquire about bulk orders.

Can I recreate one of your designs?

That depends! If I explicitly teach how to make the design through Youtube, my book, a pattern, etc then that means I am definitely okay with them being recreated! If you do choose to share it online, please credit me in your caption. If I share a design but do not share a pattern or tutorial for it, then that means that is a design I do not want to be recreated and especially do not want anyone else to recreate it to sell for profit. However, if you would like to attempt one of my designs for the purpose of learning or creating something for your own home (and don't plan to share online) then go for it!

If I buy a pattern from you, can I sell the

finished product online or in person?

My patterns themselves are protected by copyright and therefore, any content within cannot be redistributed or resold under any circumstances. Please do not use any of my patterns or techniques included in them to sell, teach workshops with, or post to youtube or social media as tutorials. If anyone is interested in recreating a pattern or technique you learned from my patterns, I would appreciate it if you instead send them my way!

However, the finished item created using this pattern may be sold individually, but cannot be mass produced. If you choose to share or sell your completed project online, please credit me by including the following in a visible place in your social media caption and/or listed item description:

"Original design and project pattern created by The Lark's Head (@thelarksheadshop)"

If selling in-person at a craft show, please include "Pattern by The Lark's Head" on the physical tag.
